Carl Faubion’s life story is a classic. He was raised in Tucumcari during the Depression. "There wasn’t any question that once a kid got big enough to carry a hoe, he went to work." Olympic Gold: A Reflection of Chico Segura |
As he settled in to watch live coverage of this year's summer Olympics in Athens, Chico Segura couldn't help but remember back to the time he experienced the Olympic games first hand. What a thrill of a lifetime to take the Guatemalan National Boxing team to the 1980 Olympics in Russia, and then to the games in Los Angeles in 1984. Later, in the 1992 Olympics, he took the Ghana team to compete in Barcelona, Spain.
