How Is Hospice Paid For?

Most private insurance plans will cover hospice services. Check with your insurance administrator for details.

Medicare

The Medicare program includes a hospice benefit with extensive coverage for the last six months of life. When you choose the hospice benefit you will be receiving the following services:

• The hospice care team including physician, nurse, certified nurse assistant, social worker
• Volunteers, therapists and pastoral care also available
• Medications, equipment and supplies related to the illness
